CARTA PARA ENVIAR CONTRA A FAMOSA «SOPA DE PLÁSTICO»:
You Excellency:
For ages the Pacific patch «lastic soup», as it is known, has been floating around, killing birds out of starvation, because moms fill the crops of their babies with plastic they think it’s fish, sea turtles and other endangered species swallow the plastic that takes millions of years to decompose.
And yet what do we see everyday in most countries at supermarkets, like in my country? People taking as many plastic bags as they want, home, and throwing them away when not needed. In poor and undeveloped countries, or just not very civilized in terms of environmental culture, the problem is serious! Many products could avoid the package and sometimes: double plastic package, other products are made of non biodegradable plastic or even recyclable ! There are alternatives to plastic! Plastic made out of corn is one of them, another is selling beans or lentils from a dose providing container , taxes on plastic use at supermarkets and shops, high enough to make people buy a textile bag or a straws made/wand made bag.
Also, IT IS ABOUT TIME TO MAKE A SERIOUS CLEANING TO THE AREA, TO THE SEAS / SEA SHORES! When a factory pollutes a river, or a ship leaks oil over the sea they should pay for a found, with high fines, very high fines…to pay for these cleanings! And isn’t gas expensive enough to pay for the damage caused by one of it’s sub-products: plastic?
We have been to indolent in taking care of the seas when they represent more on Earth than dry land.
We want this to change!
CLEAN UP THE PACIFIC PATCH PLASTIC SOUP OR OTHER SIMILAR SPOTS!
REDUCE THE USE OF PLASTIC TO THE MINIMUM POSSIBLE.
